Linking Research and Education: MAGICIAN introduced to students at EIT Manufacturing Summer and Winter Schools

MAGICIAN has also set foot into the educational world with University of Trento and Harms+Wende bringing our project to EIT Manufacturing Summer and Winter Schools.

For the EIT Summer School, the guiding theme was 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲-𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 & 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴. In a mix of online and on-site sessions, both MAGICIAN & the related EU Project INVERSE were presented to students. MAGICIAN was highlighted as a case study on innovation in manufacturing, including challenges and overall approach.

Under the theme 𝗘𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀, the Winter edition of the EIT Manufacturing Master & Doctoral School took place in Porto in November 2024 where Harms+Wende challenged ambitious students to find solutions given an MAGICIAN inspired industrial use case on servitization of manufacturing equipment involving the use of GenAI. For this challenge, students engaged in a Design Sprint and eventually pitched their business models concepts.
