MAGICIAN launches 2nd Open Call to extend its capabilities to new production environments

Since its start in 2023, the MAGICIAN project partners have developed two robotic solutions, namely the Sensing Robot (SR) for defect detection, and the Cleaning Robot (CR) for defect removal.

To leverage innovative ideas in automation and robotics in a manufacturing environment, MAGICIAN already launched its 1st Open Call in spring 2025 dedicated to integrating new functionalities within MAGICIAN project solutions. With 73 eligible applications received from 7 different countries, the 1st Open Call was a full success and concluded with 5 highly promising winner projects selected.

The 2nd Open Call launched today invites startups and SMEs from the EU and Horizon Europe associated countries developing next-generation solutions in robotics, AI, machine learning, computer vision, sensor technologies, and smart manufacturing to submit their proposals on the extension of the foreseen capabilities for the MAGICIAN framework within new and diverse real-time production environments

Therefore, it is essential that the proposed solutions are fully compatible with MAGICIAN’s current software and hardware specifications, communication system, and computational requirements to enable effective collaboration.
